1. Online Interactive Game
The "Intellectual Expedition" online game attracted a total
of 750,000 visits and 460,000 game players in 2005, achieving the goal
of combining education with fun.

The first stage of the game began on May 30 and continued
until July 28. A press conference was held at the Taipei Brother Hotel
the day the game went on-line. Baseball star CHEN Chih-Yuan was invited
to play the role of the game's main character "Idea" and
served as a spokesman. A "Game Characters' Costume Contest"
was held at the Red House Theatre in Taipei's Hsimenting district
on July 9; this event included a character fashion show hosted by
artist HUANG Tzu-Chiao. An "Intellectual Treasures Exhibition"
was held at the National Taiwan Science Education Center from July
29 to July 31, and the first raffle activity was held on August 1. |

July 29 to September 21; the second raffle activity was held on September
23. |

2. IPR Smart Train and IP Series Seminars:

IPR Smart Train:
A total of 222 IPR Smart Train lectures (including Copyright Act,
Trademark Act, Patent Act, and Trade Secret Act) were presented to
organizations, schools, companies, and enterprises upon request; over
17,000 participated and the average satisfaction rate was 92%.

IP Series Seminars:
A total of 15 IPR seminars were held for Internet software providers
and patent and trademark operators. The presentations attracted over
1,000 participants, achieved an average satisfaction rate of 90%,
and elicited favorable comments from the industry.

3. Promotion of Copyright Licensing Mechanisms:

Five copyright licensing practices presentations
were conducted for users of domestic digital content industries. Participants
at these events exceeded 400 persons; eight licensing samples were
provided to the participants for reference use. The presentations
were beneficial to industries in carrying out sound IP management
and improving the copyright protection environment. |

Five copyright "Free Licensing Seal"
presentations were held for users of websites or publications at administrative
or educational organizations. More than 600 people took part in the
presentations, which publicized the "Free Licensing Seal"
used on TIPO and industry websites, and made available for general
use by all organizations. |

4. IPR Awareness on Campus:

Establishing a Campus Secondhand Textbooks
Exchange Mechanism:
This project teamed up with the campus bookstores of National Taiwan
Normal University and National Tsinghua University, and the administration
of National University of Kaohsiung to promote a used textbooks exchange
mechanism. The period of June 20-24 was set aside for the collection
of used textbooks at National Taiwan Normal University and National
Tsinghua University, and the period of June 23-27 was set aside for
the same purpose at National University of Kaohsiung. In addition,
a "Love for Used Books" activity was held at National University
of Kaohsiung on September 21-23, at National Taiwan Normal University
on September 27-29, and at National Tsinghua University on September
28-30. Promotional stands were set up at school anniversary celebrations
held at National Chengchi University and National Taiwan Normal University
on May 21 and June 1, respectively. The "Used Textbooks Sale
Website" (http://2handbook.nasme.org.tw/) was set up this year
to expand the scope of the project. This website allows university
and college students throughout Taiwan to post information concerning
the purchase and sale of used textbooks. A total of 1,732 used books
were collected in 2005. This number shows progress over 2004 and used
books exchange appears to be the tip of a new trend.

Campus IPR Assistance Teams:
This year, 70 members of 13 legal service clubs from 12 universities
and colleges were organized as IPR assistance teams. These teams were
sent to conduct copyright education and promotion tasks at elementary
schools and junior high schools in an effort to deepen awareness.
A total of 7,640 participants attended the 56 sessions held during
the year.

5. TV Promotions:

During January and February of 2005, two
special programs on issues regarding reproducing copyrighted music
and photocopying copyrighted materials on campus were aired on GTV,
and five special news features were broadcast on CTS Evening News. |

The awareness commercial on "Say
'No' to Copycats" was included in SET's consumer related programs
from August to October of 2005. This commercial elicited many supportive
calls from viewers and requests for the "We Support Genuine Articles"
sticker. In addition, two episodes of the promotional programs-"The
Inventor" and "Chihshang Rice"- were aired on Super
TV, and one episode of "Young Inventor" was aired on Eastern
Broadcasting Company. Furthermore, news clips on the purchase and
sale of used books at National Taiwan Normal University was shown
on the evening news of the CTS, USTV, and CTC. This information publicized
campus used book exchange mechanisms. |

A 30-second awareness commercial on "IP
Protection-Ridding Bad Practices," was produced and showed in
670 cinemas throughout Taiwan in May, and aired on all TV stations
during public interest segments. The commercial received high public
support. |

A 30-second promotional commercial on
"Cyber World-'No' to Illegal Downloads" was produced and
aired on all TV stations during public interest segments starting
in October, and also shown in cinemas throughout Taiwan in December.
This commercial highlighted the necessity to obtain legal licensing
in the use of P2P software to upload or download copyrighted works.

6. Newspapers Promotions:
Twenty articles on the results of promotional activities and other information
were published in major newspapers from July to September of 2005.

on-campus IPR protection and used books exchange was broadcast once,
a 30-second IPR awareness commercial was broadcast three times, and
a 30-second awareness commercial concerning used books was broadcast
five times on BBC, Kaohsiung Education Broadcasting Co., and the Voice
of Han Broadcasting Network. |

A total of 70 awareness commercials on
Internet copyright protection were produced and broadcast, as well
as five Q&A contests were held on ICRT during October and November
2005. |
8. Advertisements:

The "Domino Effect" awareness
ad was posted at CKS International Airport and also placed in the
Consumer Reports magazine from January to September 2005 to strengthen
anti-piracy efforts. |

Sinying and Gangshan railway stations from October to December 2005. |

9. Publication of awareness literature:

You Need to Know About IPR," "Legal Liabilities for Transmitting
Copyrighted Works via BT or Emule P2P Software," "Legal
Liabilities for Giving Out Software Serial Number for Installation,"
and "Internet Copyrights 1, 2, 3" were printed and distributed
to all levels of schools through the Ministry of Education. The content
of these materials was also concurrently placed on school websites,
or hyperlinks were provided to strengthen campus promotion. The literature
was made available for the public at various awareness activities
as well. In addition, two awareness posters on "'No' to Illegal
Photocopying-Steal a Book Series" and "Anti-Bootleg Software-Zipper
Series" were printed and distributed to the Ministry of Education
and relevant rights holder groups for posting. |

The 2004 online game CD and IPR protection
achievement CD were produced, and over ten publicity items such as
bookmarks, coasters, and magnets were manufactured for use at promotional
activities. |
