In late December 2007, Keelung Customs uncovered a batch of automobile
piston parts counterfeiting BENZ, BMW and CHRYSLER, totaling 1,734 parts
and due for export to Dubai, UAE. Besides issuing a fine equal to the
value of the goods and withholding the goods according to Article 39bis
of the Customs Anti-smuggling Act. The judiciary authorities were also
provided with relevant documentations for proceeding with criminal charges.
