Ms. Margaret CHEN was appointed Deputy Director General of TIPO by the Executive Yuan on January 15, 2008. DDG Chen has a bachelor's degree in law from National Chengchi University and a Master's degree in international law from American University. She once served as a section chief at the Copyright Committee, Ministry of the Interior and was later transferred to TIPO as a senior specialist at the International Affairs and Planning Division, and then Deputy Director of Information Service Division, Director of Copyright Division and Secretary General.

DDG Chen is well versed in IPR affairs and specialized in copyright. She has participated in the discussion of IPR issues at Taiwan's trade talks with other countries since 1985.
