●The IPR Police deployed 29,038 officers in 6,582
raids that resulted in the bust of 2,280 IPR infringement cases and forwarding
2,380 suspects to the prosecutors offices, representing a year-on-year
increase of 17.83% and 15.70% respectively, and Internet infringement
accounted for nearly 80% of the cases, totaling 1,791 and involving 1,865
suspects.
●The National Police Agency busted 6,274 IPR infringement
cases and forwarding 7,119 suspects to the prosecutors offices, including
2,890 trademark and 3,384 copyright infringement cases and forwarding
3,279 and 3,840 suspects to the prosecutors offices respectively.
●The Joint Optical Disk Enforcement Task Force
(JODE) made 1,008 inspections of OD factories, printing plate factories
and related facilities without finding any illegal activities, indicating
that manufacture of pirated ODs is under effective control.
●In the border control of imported goods, the Directorate
General of Customs (DGOC) seized 4,446,506 items (of which, 4,050,700
items involved tobacco) in 300 alleged IPR infringement cases, 85,694
counterfeit ODs in 77 alleged copyright infringement cases; in the aspect
of export, the Customs Office seized 7,707 items in 3 alleged trademark
infringement cases and did not uncover any alleged copyright infringement
cases.
●The prosecutors offices of district courts prosecuted
2,869 persons involved in IPR cases, an increase of 9.67% as compared
to 2,616 persons prosecuted in the year before; and convicted 2,434 persons,
an increase of 11.19% as compared to 2,189 persons convicted in the year
before.
