1. The following types of electronic certification are designated by TIPO as valid for online applications:
(a) CITIZEN DIGITAL CERTIFICATE, provided by the Ministry of the Interior Certificate Authority (MOICA)
(b) COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE, provided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs Certificate Authority (MOEACA)
(c) GOVERNMENT CERTIFICATE, provided by the Government Certificate Authority (GCA)
(d) NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION CERTIFICATE, provided by the Certificate Authority for Non-Government Organizations (XCA)

2. Patent and trademark applicants or agents may use any one of the above certification types for online applications.

3. In addition to the required certification as stated above, TIPO is actively preparing to provide electronic certification for patent and trademark online applicants. Law firms, applicants and agents all may apply to TIPO for this certification. For other matters concerning electronic certification used by online applicants, TIPO will make further announcements in the future.
