On July 8, 2008, TIPO invited scholars, patent representatives and rights
holder groups to its forum on patent compulsory licensing provisions.
The groups discussed from a variety of perspectives the applicability
of the current law and appropriate reforms needed. These ideas will be
referred to when making future amendments to the Patent Act.
