or 9 (published after 2000) digits.
The first two/three digits represent the year of filing in Chinese calendar year
- Min Guo,which is the Christian Year minus 1911.

The 4th digit indicates patent type - "1" for invention, "2" for utility model.
The remaining digits are serial numbers.

The Certificate Number is made up of two parts.
The first part (1-digit) indicates type of a patent.
The letter 'I' is for invention patent, and 'M' for utility patent.
