To be in line with the “Substantive Examination Guidelines for Design Patents” amended last year (2020), TIPO has comprehensively updated the " Requirements for Design Patents’ Descriptions and Drawings" as well as especially adding examples to make the content clearer and easier to understand. The key revisions are as follows:

1. Added a specific section of “Instructions for Writing Descriptions” to help applicants to write descriptions according to relevant drawings.
2. Revised instructions and examples on writing descriptions and drawings for “Graphical Designs”.
3. Added instructions and examples on writing descriptions and drawings for “Spatial Design” (including constructions and interior designs).
