2025 TIPA "Origins: Blossoms in Bloom" Certification Mark Seminar & Promotion Exhibition
TIPO commissioned the Taiwan Intellectual Property Training Academy (TIPA) to host the 2025 TIPA "Origins: Blossoms in Bloom" Geographical Mark Seminar & Promotion Exhibition on March 15, 2025, during the NTU Azalea Festival. The event highlighted geographical marks, i.e. geographical certification marks and geographical collective trademarks, as a key tool for ensuring product quality and enhancing brand value. The registration and use of graphical marks allow businesses to highlight geographical advantages and quality assurance, distinguishing themselves on the market, and boosting local industry development.
The event consists of two segments. The product promotion exhibition began at 10:00 am on March 15th at the NTU Lu Ming Square, where fourteen Taiwanese products registered with geographical marks will be displayed, demonstrating the commitment of mark holders to ensuring the quality of local agricultural products and showcasing the collective benefits of geographical mark adoption.
The geographical mark seminar was held that afternoon in room 301 on the third floor of NTU’s Gongtong Lecture Building, featuring experience geographical mark holders and the following guest speakers: Professor Hsiao-Fen Hsu from the NCKU Department of Law, and Assistant Professor Gina Tsai, who is the Chair of the Creative Tourism and Community Design Association in Taiwan (CTCAT). Speakers shared insights on best practices for geographical mark promotion and real-world applications.
Through this event, TIPO aimed to support Taiwan's agricultural agencies in promoting geographical marks, encourage mark holders and users to maximize the benefits thereof, and enhance consumer awareness and trust in geographical marks , ensuring effective implementation of Taiwan’s geographical certification mark and collective trademark system.
