2022 World Intellectual Property Day - IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future

The theme of the World IP Day this year is “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future.” TIPO has therefore, partnered with schools and IP civil organizations to organize a series of events for youths, including four seminars and the Patent Drafting Competition for the Youth.
Patent Drafting Competition for the Youth was held on April 16-17 and welcomed teams of students from 19 universities and colleges. Another four seminars also attracted over 900 people who attended either in person or online – a testament to the widespread concern for IPR issues.
Leading youth entrepreneurs of the likes of Director He Jin Tsan and Public Relations Director Lai Hong Chi from GII of Machinery Industry Community (G2), and CrossOver Founder Karen Yang were invited to speak at two seminars: Laws Regarding IP & Creations in the New Age, and Embracing IP to Chase Dreams – the 2022 Entrepreneur’s Forum. There, the invited speakers shared their experiences with youth entrepreneurship, creation, and IP protection in the new age, and then discussed the importance of keeping up with IP protection issues.
Industry professionals from Sony Music Taiwan, Studio 76, LeadAgilex, and KK Company were invited to speak at the other two seminars: Social Media and Virtual Reality vs. IPR, and Careers in IP, where they explored the many challenges and potential of the IPR field and shared encouraging stories from their own careers.
TIPO hopes to furnish a better future for the next generation of young professionals by helping them gain a better understanding of the value and importance of IPR through the series of World IP Day events, so that they may in turn, apply IPR awareness in their endeavors and create high value-added businesses.
