As applications for 5G technology and Internet of Things (IoT) applications continue to expand, standard essential patents (SEPs) will have a significant impact on the industry. With an export-oriented and professional OEM industry, Taiwan faces significant challenges in SEP-related disputes in major global consumer markets.

With the aim of helping Taiwan industries quickly adapt to foreign policies and regimes, TIPO is partnering with the European Economic Trade Office (EETO) and the European Business and Regulatory Cooperation Program (ERBC) to host the 2023 EU-Taiwan Seminar on Standard Essential Patents at the NTU College of Law Tsai Lecture Hall on April 25.

Experts have been invited from Taiwan and Europe to discuss in-depth issues related to SEPs, in hopes of enhancing understanding of standard essential patents and practical operations among various sectors and consolidating consensus on the issues through discussions. All who are interested are welcome to join.
