80th Anniversary of the Patent Act – Masters Seminar Series

Taiwan's Patent Act was promulgated on May 29, 1944, and consists of four chapters and 133 articles in its entirety. The act entered into force on January 1, 1949. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the enactment of the Patent Act. In celebration, TIPO held a master seminar series on April 26, coinciding with the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day.

This event featured distinguished speakers including former Justice Ming-Cheng Tsai of the Judicial Yuan, Chief Judge Kuo-Cheng Chen of the Supreme Administrative Court, and Vice President & Legal Counsel Peng-Yu Wang from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). They delivered lectures on three key topics: "Review and Outlook on the 80th Anniversary of the Enactment of the Patent Act," "The Evolution of Taiwan's Patent Litigation System," and "The Impact of Patent Legislation and Practice on Industry: ITRI’s Development Strategies for Intellectual Property." These lectures aimed to deepen public understanding and awareness of our national patent system.
