To enhance global understanding of Taiwan’s substantive examination practices for invention patents, TIPO has released the English versions of Chapter 9 "Post Grant Amendment" and Chapter 10 "Division and Conversion" from Part II of the Patent Examination Guidelines. 

Chapter 9 explains the types of amendments applicants may request and outlines the criteria for determining whether such amendments are allowable during substantive examination. Chapter 10 sets out the requirements for filing divisional or conversion applications and details the legal effects of such actions.

These English versions aim to help foreign applicants better assess whether their applications meet the relevant standards set forth in Taiwan's patent system.
