TIPO Launches Upgraded Online Music Search Platform
TIPO's online music search platform now integrates data from the International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) database and the Taiwan Popular Music Database. To date, the system houses over 750,000 records, covering songs and albums managed by Taiwan's five Copyright Collective Management Organizations (CMOs).
TIPO notes that, in addition to basic song search functions for the general public, the system offers a one-stop service for large-scale commercial users, such as radio and television stations, to manage and cross-check their usage playlists. This significantly reduces the traditional communication costs associated with locating and negotiating licensing with economic rights holders. Furthermore, it resolves a major industry pain point for broadcasters, who previously struggled to obtain clear music rights and CMO management information.
For individuals or businesses seeking rights information for songs they wish to use, they can simply visit the Copyright section of TIPO’s website and click the quick link to the online music search platform. By entering keywords, such as song title, singer, lyricist, composer, or album name, users can easily identify the corresponding CMOs or record labels. With this information, they can effectively secure the necessary licenses, which can ensure the legal use of copyrighted works and avoiding the risk of infringement.
