TIPO Releases Comprehensive Ten-Year Analysis of Taiwan’s Green Trademarks: Building an Invisible Moat for the Net-Zero Era
Building upon its 2025 edition of the Analysis of Taiwan's Green Trademarks Industry, TIPO has incorporated the latest annual statistical data to publish the “Comprehensive Ten-Year Analysis of Taiwan's Green Trademarks: Building an Invisible Moat for the Net-Zero Era.” The report examines the decadal development trends and industrial portfolios of domestic green trademarks, serving as a strategic reference for enterprises responding to global climate goals and net-zero initiatives.
A “green trademark” refers to a trademark whose designated goods or services under the Nice Classification possess green characteristics. Aligning with EU benchmarks, this report categorizes green trademarks into nine major categories: Energy Products, Transportation, Energy Conservation, Reuse/Recycle, Pollution Control, Waste Management, Agriculture, Environmental Awareness, and Climate Change.
Over the past decade, green trademark applications in Taiwan have exceeded 126,000 filings, representing 14.10% of total trademark applications, meaning roughly one in every seven applications carries green DNA. In terms of sector distribution, Energy Conservation (32.34%), Pollution Control (25.69%), and Energy Products (19.79%) constitute the three pillars of Taiwan’s green economy, collectively accounting for nearly 80% of all filings. Notably, while the Climate Change category currently accounts for only 5.47%, it surged by more than 150% between 2024 and 2025, positioning itself as a core growth driver for the decade ahead.
