2026 Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE) Concludes Successfully, Fostering Vibrant Technology Exchanges with 341 Entries Honored in the Invention Competition
The 2026 Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE) took place from September 17 to 19, 2026. Achieving unprecedented success as a premier cross-border platform for innovative technology exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region, this year’s expo brought together nearly 450 exhibitors from 18 countries to showcase over 1,000 technologies. Over the course of the three-day event, TIE attracted more than 50,000 visits from global buyers, academic and research institutions, and industry experts spanning 64 countries.
Held concurrently with the expo, the Invention Competition featured 549 entries across diverse fields competing for top honors. Notably, the International Invention Category brought together outstanding teams from six countries—Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Poland, Indonesia, and Japan—showcasing 61 technologies across 39 booths. To ensure rigor, professionalism, and diverse perspectives, TIPO invited domestic scholars, experts, and industry representatives to form a professional judging panel. Following a two-stage evaluation process comprising a document review and an on-site appraisal, a total of 341 winning inventions were selected, including 16 Platinum Ward winners, 95 Gold Medal winners, 97 Silver Medal winners, and 133 Bronze Medal winners.
This year, TIPO invited five leading enterprises—Delta Electronics, Wonderland Group, Micro-Star International (MSI), Hon Hai Technology Group, and Corning Incorporated—to serve as “mystery shopper” judges. By incorporating a corporate perspective into the evaluation mechanism, these enterprises selected outstanding patents with high commercialization potential and presented a total of 22 corporate special awards, setting a model for bridging industry, academia, and research. Furthermore, to nurture the next generation of innovation seeds, a total of four “Future Star Awards” were presented this year to encourage young students to pursue continuous innovation and invention while demonstrating breakthrough thinking. The full list of winners has been published on the official TIE website for public reference.
